ENID BLYTON
was born i London in 1897. She originally planned to make a career
in music. She had almost completed her musical education when she
decided to become a school teacher instead and for a period she was
a teacher at a boys' proparatory in Kent.
She also enjoued writing fiction for children. At the age of
forteen she had a poem published in a children's magazine. Since
then, apporoximately six hundred books and countless articles have
been written by her. Her works have been translated into
niety-three languages. She died in 1968.
Her writings include the following wellknown series of
childrens' books: "Secret" series; "St. Clare's" series: "Five"
series; "Mary Mouse" series; "Adventure" series; "Noddy" series;
"Secreet Seven" series; "Bom" series.
